One of my favorite puzzles that I plan to put at least some of in my game is what I am calling succesive action puzzles.  It takes more than one thing to be in place for the puzzle to unfold.  The one I'm thinking of is in a Tex murphy game.  Tex is stuck in this conservatory with a guard outside.  If he pulls a fire alarm(I think, it's been a long time) this guard comes running in, finds out there's no fire, and leaves.  So he has to put this rake in a pile of leaves.  Then the guard runs in, steps on the rake, and knocks himself out.  What are your favorites like that?

Well, there's the classic Babelsfish one in HHGG.

Then I can't think of any more. Probably in part because they're hard to design. And another large part is due to my memory. (And my pile of unplayed games.) I agree it's a very good thing if done right.

There's several in "Day of the Tentacle".

I remember particularly one where you have to get a statue changed so that when you push someone sitting in a chair with wheels they can't stop themselves rolling out of the room and down the stairs.

Well it was something like that - it's been a while.

Yeah, that puzzle was brilliant. DOTT has many brilliant puzzles, for that matter.

There's a puzzle like that in my current project Smiley I'm really curious how hard people are going to find that one once it's released...

Here's another one.  It was in the 2.5 3d monkey island.  It's put out that there's this pirate type guy that's afraid of geese.  He lives in this swamp.  So there's this little shack, with a window, a dock and a bait catching box at the end.  What's his name has to scare him with a goose in the window, leave something for him to trip over, and have the box open so he falls inside.

Another one was in a King's Quest.  It had something to do with luring one of these little people out to catch, but whatever he used didn't get him quite close enough.  So you had to pour this honey on the ground.  Then he would come out and get stuck in it.
