I know that most people seem to prefer handdrawn graphics for adventure games, but I thought that someone might be interested in Bryce.  Daz is giving version 5.0 away for free until September 6th.  Here's the link --

Hi Imari:

If you're interested you may want to pop over to:

www.Caligari.com

They are giving away gameSpace Light.

And Content Paradise is giving away a free $10 coupon. This lasts only till Thursday August 31st.

Yeah - What's up with all the free 3D stuff lately, anyway? Are they in some kind of battle to win more users who eventually will buy their latest version or something?

I also noticed it with other products, like VMWare, Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Studio, etc...

(Not that I'm complaining)

I'm not sure what the reasoning for the freebies are but hey you know the old saying about the gift horse. I think because companies now have all the newer versions out, I guess they don't have much use for older versions. It doesn't seem very fair to the people who put out alot of money buying the product.  I feel a bit guilty really. I always like to wait and see if something ends up free. I'm finding myself travelling around looking for more freebies. It gets to be a bit of an addiction after awhile.

I think it's marketing strategy.  If someone likes it and uses it, they are more likely to upgrade to the latest version.  I didn't know poser was that complicated.  I just pictured grabbing arms and legs and moving them around.  That's probably another way for them to make money.  Sell the manual.

it could be something to do with all the warez copies kicking about, also lets face it, you'd want to know you could actually use something like poser before you fork out X amount of money
i still use poser 4, takes up less system resources, less BS and my steam powered computer just to say copes with it!

I've never tried Bryce before but it doesn't look half bad :great: gamespace lite tho.. you might as well get truespace 3.2! its limited to the file size you can save and watermarks images,, the pre made models within gamespace are to big to save
a guy i know did all his 3DGS models with MilkShape they export into nearly every 3D game engine you can think of
