OK I got the mushroom, but the bees aren't talkative, and won't give over and my new friend won't kick the tree down.

Yeah, well thanks a lot for helping me out.  The bees gave me the wonderful hint of looking elsewhere.  I've already looked elsewhere.  No one offered me any stinking honey.  I already learned one thing, I won't use 2 players in an adventure.  It doubles the frustration level.

NigeC: To get anywhere with the boat, you need to have some way of moving it across the water first. There is something useful very close.

OK.  This one is for Trum.  I have the 3 ingredients and gave them to the bartender.  I talked to Nige who is farther, but he gave the bartender something that I already gave him earlier as payment for the beer, so I don't know what to do.

If you've given Blake everything needed (bananas, honey, mushroom - and the banana flower to replace the wooden banana), he will mix the cure for you. The order you give him the things does not matter. It sounds like you think you've already done that, but I suspect you've forgotten about one.

I'm assuming that you have talked to him about the cure.

Yeah, there was one thing in the inventory.  I must have not done a save where I thought I did.

Hmm.  This is really a hard game.  I got a walk thru, but I don't even understand what I'm supposed to do from reading that.  Something about colors and some words adding up to something.  Is this some kind of mensa thing?

That's the downside of playing a game with hints or walkthrough. You can end up going through the puzzles without understanding how they work. There is a thought behind this section, even though it may not seem like it, but I make no guarantee that you'll find it acceptable after you've passed through it. According to feedback, this is the most controversial section of puzzles. Some hated it, and others loved it. (Several hints were added during beta testing, though, and some of the testers solved it on their own so it should be solvable without psychic abilities to read my mind.)

I can try to explain it. How far along are you?

I'm in the cave.  There is a key pad or something with base 10 digits as far as I can tell, but words, if converted to numerics, would be base 24.  The hints seem to make you want to add up two words.  There is only one clue given as to how the numbers relate to the letters, which would make it seemingly impossible for me to make any conclusion.  The earlier portions of the game were fun in places, but I had too much trouble relating to the Gura character and the interface.  He's the talker, but uses his mouth like a hand, which was too hard for me to relate.  The scroll threw me off once because I just didn't know the screen would scroll in that direction.  I'm probably not a good example because I lose patience easily and have trouble with interfaces.  I like puzzles like the boat.

It sounds like you are on the right track with the code, but note that there are not only two words to add up, the solution for that addition is also given. Then you have enough information to solve it. There is also a way to have it solved for you, if you don't enjoy that kind of math-problem.
