Can't say I'm that surprised. There obviously was talent involved, though, so let's hope they can make something else (and better) instead.

(Edit: That would be KQIX, of course.)

Oh man. All that work. This is why I would never work on a fan adventure. I imagine this comes as a shock to the people involved, even if they knew this could happen. I wonder if the motivation to make something new is there. I once lost a 50% completed game due to a HD crash and found it extremely difficult to start over again. (And I never did complete it)

This is unbelievable. Isn't the company that made KQ out of business? So what's the big deal if someone else wants to pick up where they left off, it's freeware. It isn't like people are going to be making a fortune from it. Legallities what a pain in lower mid section.  I thought free meant free. How much money does Sierra need? Or is it even about money? Well isn't everything these days about money. I was so looking forward to playing that game too. Oh well. Just my two pennies worth.

Hey,

Just wanted to let everyone know that a group of us King's Quest fans have gotten together to try to save KQIX.   Our website is:  www.savekqix.org

We ask every KQ fan to please stop by our site, say hi on the forums, and write a letter to Vivendi.  More on the letter writing campaign can be found on the site.

If enough of us write to them, hopefully we can convince them to allow KQ to continue, either as a fan-game or a commercial game.

www.savekqix.org

Thanks,

Matt
