He's doing OK.  He says he isn't into game making as much so that might be why he's not stopping by.  He's still doing modeling and it's looking really good from what I've seen.
His youtube channel is here:

He hasn't updated recently, though.
I don't have his site address anymore since I let mine expire, I had it on there.

Thanks for the info on Nige ad7. I'll post a message over on his channel later. I seen the car model he did, it looks great.

I totally understand him not wanting to do games, they are a lot of work, especially when they're novels like mine. After Hawk Manor I still have two more games and then after that I might not bother with games. I'm getting into mach movies now. I don't have to code those and you know my policy on coding. Although I am looking forward to trying Wintermute.

Well I'm off to make the rounds. Take care and I hope you don't disappear on us too. Stay in touch Smiley

Hi all..
I'm still here.. well I am now, I left but someone left the door open lol

I have been very busy over the last 3 months doing my job as a beta tester for Thea, there is a lot of my 3D work here:
http://arfur9.deviantart.com/gallery/

As for games.. well I asked one of the main Visionaire guys if they fancied doing a Halloween contest and he agreed and pressies are involved so I may come out of hiding, I have no idea what to do yet,, but I was thinking of doing a contest at ShareCG which is also Halloween, so one might help fuel the other  Roll Eyes
I kinda decided I was never going to do a game, creating a one of 3D image is a lot easier than trying to string a whole series of rooms together, with puzzles and a story etc, I have the attention span of a fruit fly at the moment.

Thanks for the concern! When people announce on forums they are leaving half the time it comes across they are needy and want attention, so I just slip off quietly, I could of sworn you had my email Starlite

Hey Nige, good to hear from you again. Sorry but I didn't get an email, I never ignore emails from good friends. I do ignore them from family though. Just kidding. I love the work you're doing excellent job. I wish I could get such great effects.

I've also wandered down a different path from games for awhile. I started making two mach movies called Desperate and Battle Of The Bones. I'm in a rush to get BOTB ready for Halloween, I just finished the scenes with the dirty joke pumpkin, filthy little thing. Next step is to figure out how to get the skeletons working with aniblocks and move their jaws, and how to animate lightning. That's going to be fun.

I'm glad you stopped by to see us, I always worry about missed friends. I'll send you a PM with another email address that you can get a hold of me there. Well I'm off, it's good to hear from you again, stay in touch Smiley

Your stuff looks great Nige!  I'm currently trying to learn Blender 3.5.  It's really like starting all over.  Cry  I am finding out how to use some of the newer tools that came out that I didn't learn along the line.  I want to do more architecture and objects this time and use MakeHuman models.  I hate going through tutorials, but at least the video tutorials are a little nicer and I can actually watch them in HD with my high speed connection.  It's so slow learning, though.  I feel like I'm not getting anything done, mainly because I'm not getting anything done.  This time I'm going to stay focused on Blender, Flex, and Unity and keep improving instead of always changing engines.

I'm currently doing a subway tutorial by Andrew Price.  Pretty amazing.

The Corsa headlight glare and the Scifi fog scene were done using Price's tutorials, well they were rendered in Thea but the scene was set and composited in Blender, very cool tool. I can't get my head around Blender as a modeller I usually import meshes and assemble, the particle system, uv mapping and fluids are awesome though, I found you only need to be shown once and it sinks in.
Thanks Fogfighter. R2 was the first thing I got right in Sketchup, I keep meaning to revisit the model and fix a few things, at the moment he's set in that pose and a few things that could be better, and get him so he'll age better

You did a great work Nige. I am starting it over. We really need your help with the headlight glare. Btw, where were you?

I'm thinking of looking at Sketchup also, being I need to basically start over.  Some elements just look a lot easier to use.  Still thinking it over.  Mainly I want to learn to develop architecture rapidly.  I'll probably end up staying with Blender, but Sketchup is tempting.

what do you need PhillineDon87?

AD7, the trick with Sketchup is treat it like any other modeler ie don't be temped to build up from a plane, create floors, walls etc as their own entities, I group each object.
My grumble as far as SU goes for games is the scale can be way out and it lacks decent uv tools and difficult map externally though Blender does ok.. plus side is there's loads of plugins, most work with the free version and Kerkytheas plugin works with the free one so you can get commercially viable work from it

It's funny how they made all these changes in Blender so people wouldn't be intimidated by it and use another modeler, and that's pretty much what's happening anyway.  They just alienated all the old users like me.
I do need to update my knowledge to the latest tools though.  It looks like arrays are the most useful.  I've used mirroring in the past, but after the fact, now it looks like they do it right while they are modeling.  They even changed a lot of keyboard shortcuts for some reason.  I can see it's going to be a while. Oh well, it's really just a hobby so it doesn't matter.
