There is now* a new version of
SLUDGE available. The following are the changes since 2.0.1.
Support for
movie playback is the big one, and the reason for changing the version number to 2.1. (A change of the second number means that there's a new feature. And speaking of version numbers - the title of this forum is outdated now. Maybe rename the forum to just SLUDGE?) There are three new functions, that are described in the documentation,
this post, and I've made
a simple demo that shows how to use them.
The movie playback is WebM format only. The movies are scaled to fill the window, while keeping the correct aspect ratio. Playback isn't perfect yet (the video is a bit jerky), but we're releasing it now anyway so that you can try it out, and playback will be improved in a future release. If anyone has any opinions on how it works, now is the time to voice them!
There's also a
fixed bug in the Windows engine, so that tablet pens are now supported properly, and Alt+Tab task switching works.
The Development Kit has slightly
improved error reporting, including line numbers. (Note that in order to get it to open the files directly to the line, the Mac Dev Kit now always opens the scripts in the internal editor when you double-click an error. Does anyone mind that? I suppose the old behaviour could be made an option if needed.)
And two
bugfixes in the GTK version of the Development Kit (Linux and Windows): Clicking on the same compiler error in the projectmanager twice could cause
a crash, and
sprites could disappear if the graphical tools were compiled differently.
Except for the imperfections in the movie playback mentioned earlier, we are now - as usual - in a state of no known bugs. If any bugs are found, we appreciate it if you let us know.

* I've uploaded the Mac files, and the Windows engine. BigMc will soon upload the rest (the Linux stuff, and the Dev Kit for Windows).
