Monkey_05_06 asked me to draw pictures for a silly + short fan game of a fan video of a game series based on an old game series.

I did.

You can download the game here.

Thank, Ben!  In that picture, your female looks as though she's grown one giant antenna.   Grin

Haha, I couldn't get her to stand in any other position in the game! Curse other people's programming! Wink

The artwork looks really nice.  I haven't gotten a chance to download it yet.  Have to say I'm a bit tired of MI fan games.

Heh, I'd never make a fan game myself, but Michael promised me this wouldn't take long and I've been quite interested in pushing myself to improve my graphics lately, so it was an enjoyable challenge trying to capture the feel of Monkey Island.

I can't really think of any Monkey Island fan games around recently - well, not ones that have actually been released anyway.

I consider this game more as a spoof.

That makes it a little more interesting, then.

Oh yeah, sorry, I thought I made this clear in the description  Embarrassed

It's most certainly more of a silly joke than a standard fan game type affair!

it was "good", but i was really impressed by the inventory system (a bit slow and bothersome in the long run) but it was cool to see.

The female voices where truly great, the recording and acting was very good, the other voices lowered the quality quite a bit though mostly due to the recording.

PS: If you dont want to have programming problems, use visionaire studio (hint hint) hehehe!!

Ben, your game looks great, can't wait to play it.

I'd like to ask you about Visionaire. I went over to their site and they say that if  you want the full version you have to get a license. Do you have to pay for the full version.  Smiley

I agree with Imari Smiley please be careful about all usability angles.

Thanks.

if you get the free version you have the full application, only thing missing is the ability to make the final self executable file, though you can send the .ved file so other people can play it trough the visionaire (only bad thing about this is people will see your source files)

though i recommend to use the free version so you can see and test the full capabilities of the program and get familiar with it, you can also start working on a full game in it since the program is not limited or capped in any way, and afterward if you want the registered version you only purchase the license and your files are fully compatible with the ones you created with the free version.

The license is only 30€ and you can make fully self executable, self contained games and all your source work is compiled and secured.
