Good day my fellow developers and gamers alike

I shouldn't even be using a computer right now because I have a really bad headache but I just had to tell everyone the good news.

I'm getting close to finishing Roanoke. It didn't hit me till two days ago that it's almost finished. I'm working out some bugs right now and I have maybe one difficult puzzle to finish and a few male voices and that should be it.

I can't believe it. I didn't think I'd ever get that stupid game finished. When it's done it's going to be like a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. If at least one person likes it then as far as I'm concerned it was all worthwhile. Well I'm off, need a spot of tea. Take care everyone  Smiley

Hey Nige,

Believe me, there were a number of times I felt like chucking it in from shear frustration, but thanks to you and everyone else who encouraged me to keep at it. Plus I don't have any other hobbies so what else could I do.

I got some really great help from Schiman over at Zimond's, lol that's funny. He taught me how to use script to do the clicking objects in the right order. This will help with my box puzzle and all other stuff in the game where you have to press buttons and stuff in the right order.

I can't really say yet when the game will be released still quite a bit more to do, but once I get these last 3 puzzles out of the way, that's more than half the battle won.

I was checking out Hawk Manor today and man that is another looonnnngggg game. But I'm more experienced now with script than I was before so hopefully it won't take as long to make another game.

I'm still leaning towards learning flash though for some of the cutscenes. I've learned how to bring my own pre made backdrops in DazStudios so that will cut down on a lot of misery. Well I'm off, my headache is gone away so I want to try out Schiman's script. Take care for now.  Smiley

Keep on right to the end of the road Starlite!

It's a real high for me as a computer programmer when against all the odds the code does what I wanted it to do!

Hey guys,

Thanks for the encouragement. As my friend Lisle's song says, "there's no turning back." I'm close to the end now I could taste it. It is going to be such a big relief to get rid of this thing and in a small way I'm going to miss it. But I've started writing a sequel to it called The Roanoke Connection.

Yes Kickaha, it is great when the script behaves itself and does what it's told, provided you're telling it to do the right thing, which half the time I don't. But I've found that I understand script more now and that is the big key for me. As I'm getting toward the end I'm feeling more relaxed, but I shouldn't go blowing my own horn just yet. There's still a little bit more to go. I have to work bugs and fix a couple of the puzzles that I had to put on hold.

I couldn't work on it yesterday because I had a really bad headache, but I'll have time today, so wish  me luck and hopefully you'll be playing it soon. Take care everyone and happy creating  Smiley
