I wouldn't call it pride Imari - perhaps more self-respect.  Unless that is another word for pride!

I dont see anything wrong with walkthroughs as long as you don't use them a lot. There is no satisfaction in solving the puzzle when you didn't work hard for it. Which reminds me of this movie i saw a couple of weeks ago about a bunch of young guys who really worked hard to earn thousands of dollars by spamming forums. If you haven't seen this guys, you have to check it out.

I guess it's appropriate to feel pride after solving an especially tricky puzzle.

It's not something you can tell anyone about though.  Hey, I finally solved that Myst puzzle of the rising ship!  Unless it's another gamer.  I guess it depends on the type of puzzle for me.  Some of them involve pixel hunts more than any brain work.  Those are usually the ones I need a walk through for and I don't feel bad about it.  I can hardly remember a time where it turned out to be something other than a hidden object somewhere that I neglected to run my mouse over.

I'll think about it.  I'm not sure how enjoyable a movie about game players could be, though.
