8 Squares in the Garden is a game based on Lewis Carrol's Through the Looking Glass.
In this first part of the episodic adventure, Alice must find a way to board
the train and continue her journey to becoming a queen.  It's a combined effort by
some of the regulars on AD.  Trumgottist composed and played the background music and
Imari did the voices of Alice and the Red Queen.  The rest was done by Ad7venture with
the help of the Wintermute game engine and the Blender modeling program.

Beta finished

Please post any problems you have with the game along with critiques, either good or bad.
All comments are welcome.

Great you got as far as uploading the Beta Ad7venture!

(Downloading as I type - may be a day or two before I can give this a whirl.)

O.K. Due somewhat to lack of interest, I'm closing the beta.  I got some extremely useful information from Nige and Kickaha, so my thanks.  I'll be putting an installer on the program and posting it around a few places.

Well, rats!  That's what I get for waiting until the last minute to do my taxes.   Embarrassed

I like the screen shot.   Smiley

I'll post a link with the installer and bug fixed version.  This might be safer, Imari, in case you change your mind about having your voice in the game.   Grin

I hate taxes, I don't blame you for putting them off.  I would, except they're so complicated I could never finish at the last minute.

I was in the middle of exams (and still am), so I guess I'll have to play the final version.

Glad to see it's nearing completion. The screenshots I've seen thus far, including this one, look very enticing.

It was great to see others assisting Ad7venture make this game / episode.

I look forward to playing all through the episode when a new version is posted!

The hopefully finally version of the first episode of 8 squares in the garden is here.

That's a folder with an execute in it.  I have to figure out the installer yet.

I downloaded "Alice" last night and it seems to be working without any glitches.  I'm really impressed by all that you've accomplished.   The 3D works really well, and I love your characters.  I'm pretty amazed also, at how you've made the voices sound so different.  Nice work!

I've only managed to get the jug thus far and expect to be rearranging ducks for some time to come.   Tongue

A word of warning on the ducks.  If you leave the scene, they'll reset, so you'll l have to do a save while your in the scene if you want to save your progress.

Ah... I found that out the hard way.   I love how each duckling looks up at you expectantly when you address it.

Oh, it's done! I've downloaded it and will play later. Any plans for creating a website for the game, so that I can link to that from my site?
