First of all, no disrespect to the thread you have for people posted services wanted and services offered but it's just one area and I am looking for more ways to advertise. Adventure Game Studio has 2 separates threads for such things but neither have helped me find a second part time 2D artist for my team. I posted something like this here but the thread was closed because it was felt I was trying to promote my game too much but that was not my intent and since this site is not just about a single engine I hope the same thing will not happen here.
The only other place I have somewhat advertise for this position is through my blog(I will get around to adding it to my sig.

The big problem with trying to build a team is the amount of kids who have come on the scene basiclly wanting other people to do the work for them, its not just indie games, its getting harder and harder to get help with anything to be honest
Theres an old saying; "if you want something doing.. do it yourself", I was involved with a team doing a remake of a game (i wont mention which one) as far as i could see the team leader did nothing apart from spout orders, and whine about other peoples work, there was around 4 hangers on that did very little, a great artist.. who was p**sed off half the time because of the "leader" and the programmer who was good to
this year i've had 2 voice actors that just disappeared and never did a thing, and a 3Dmodeler who seems to of gone walk about
Myspace might be worth a shot, and open a group, there's loads of artists/cartoonists on there
Or use an engine with a smaller following..
I'm considering Visionaire for a game
Do a MAGS game on AGS and get yourself noticed.. its quite a good topic this month
If you can't do pixel art go hi res, cheat and use 3D, you can get DAZ3D, Bryce5.5, Truespace 3.2, Blender for free

MySpace, do you mean like MSN groups or otherwise I don't understand, I also know there's Google groups but it's hard to find one that I would be suited for and who am I to just barge in and do nothing but request help. I am the opposite in a way of the team leader you mentioned but I guess I am similar but only a little in that I ask team members to do certain things for the game, I wouldn't say order and whenever they have input, like the part time designer I appreciate it and see whether it can work or if it's better than my idea. However in a way I am the head of the team so I kind of have the last say but every game making team has one, it's what they're like and their team members that make the different between a good team and a crap one. Sorry to hear you got stuck with such a jerk, if it were me I would have told him to shove his constant orders and criticisms up his a**e! Seriously since I want to learn how to draw low res graphics if I ever finish this game, I'd probably only want a coder for the next game(I say this because I got freaked out by BASIC, c'mon, BASIC!)
However if I join as a member at other engine's forums and then advertise for second part time artist wouldn't it be hypercritical considering I'm not even using their engine to make the game? However do you know what engines have such forums where one could recruit a team member besides AGS? I asked this is another thread, do you know the legal status of the current versions of RPGMaker as I one day also want to make a old school rpg game.

How do I turn the music off on your MySpace page? I'm not a fan of website music and certainly not when I'm already listening to songs. Is your page where the info I need or is it just an example, if it's the latter than how do I find the ones that may help me?
Nothing involving money for the game, firstly it's gonna be freeware so I see no need to spend money I'll never get back for all the hard work and the team's and I'm on a limited income these days anyway so I can't afford stuff like that.

If it was me, I'd try looking some place where 2d artists that don't make games are more likely to hang out. I'm not sure where that would be, though. 2d art is kind of on the outs, and people that are good at it want money.

the music.. i was bored one day
theres a search feature to look for people, if you say, search AGS, you should find other users.. add them to your friends and try and build a friendship, they are bound to know someone willing to help or help themselves
Its a useful free tool to get some self promotion
If you invest in anything, web hosting is well worth it, you could do a project forum, upload files or just promote the game

No need for the angry smiley regarding the music, I merely suggest you give people visting your MySpace page some way of turning it off, short of turning off their speakers.
I don't use MySpace but I do have a Yahoo 360 acccount, do that would be as effective?

Well if you suggest that I search for people who list a certain interest on their MySpace page than the principle applies to Yahoo 360, otherwise what did you mean?
Also any links or things that help me I should check out your page?

the guy who did Gesundheit using AGS is on my list, he also does game music..
people who do music will often do voice acting if you ask nicely, most have decent recording equipment
Game Developers Paradise on my list has an art tut, i've never looked at it
I know its frustrating trying to get help, you just have to try every way possible

Thanks for the information. BTW, is there any way to turn off the music on your page? Just say yes or no, even if the answers no I can turn my speaker's off while look at it
