I just get it the other day and have been playing it and I really like it.
It took a little time to get use to the controls and how things work, but I must say the voice acting is one of the best I have heard in a game.
The reviewers on it seem to not like the game a lot and have found a lot of players didn't care for it too.
But some like me did find i most enjoy able . Smiley
The price is a little steep but you do get a new 3D game to play with a nice sound track.
Added their main web site.

I don't trust Adventure Gamer's reviews.  It's like a bunch of game writer wannabe's picking a game apart and not really seeing what's there, only what they think should be there.   It's too hard for me to justify that kind of an expense for game anymore, though.

I don't mind paying for games and was not that high as some I have seen.

I think what's really sad is when you read this review from a general video game site and compare it to Adventure Gamer's.  It used to be completely the other way around.

Quote
If Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and H.P. Lovecraft had ever collaborated on a novel, the duo might have come up with a spooky saga a lot like Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened. This adventure, the third in Frogwares Game Development Company's series featuring the protagonist of such classic mysteries as The Hound of the Baskervilles and The Sign of Four, pits the deerstalker-wearing detective against the horrors of the Cthulhu mythos. While that combination may sound more like fan-fiction cheese than a pulp-fiction dream team, the tale here is told brilliantly, and the adventure mechanics are as faultlessly logical as the legendary sleuth himself.

They gave it an 8.3 out of 10 and called it "great".

I read the article of the author at Adventure Classic and checked a few reviews around a while back.  The other reviews were so so, but Adventure Gamer's was insulting.
