Hi, I am completely new here, but have been a fan of adventure games since I was 8 yo, playing in my Apple II Plus (what a machine!) some first person games and even before in a computer I can

Adventure Game Studio (AGS for short) allows you to create your own point-and-click adventure games, similar to the early 90's Sierra and Lucasarts adventures. It consists of an easy-to-use development environment, and run-time engine.

The game interface is fully customizable, although the classic Sierra interface is supported by default. You need no programming experience to make a game using AGS - setting most game options is just a matter of point-and-click (though scripting is of course available if you prefer). AGS manages most of the game so that you don't have to - it provides load/save game functions, inventory management, and more.

Add in some interactions (ie. what happens when the player clicks on various things) and you're done. You can even create a standalone EXE file containing your entire game, which you can then distribute.

So, how much does it cost? Nothing. That's right, AGS is free, and you can even create commercial games with it (subject to license terms).

NOTE: AGS is not for everyone. To make more advanced parts of a game, such as cutscenes, you will need to be prepared to learn the scripting language. It is recommended that you have at least a basic knowledge of computers before attempting to use AGS - such as, you know what a PCX file is, you can think logically and you know the difference between your hard drive and your RAM.

I guess it's difficult to find people who wants to work on a game. There are lots of projects out there, and everyone and his uncle have tons of ideas for new adventures. Your best bet is to create something before recruiting other developers, some kind of design document, rough screenshots and so on. Your short story is a good start. More information about your project would help, too. In which setting the adventure will take place for example.

I agree with Gfx johnny. It's not easy to find someone willing to jump into an undefined project. You'll have to come up with at least an idea. Even that's not enough if you're looking for committed team members. Write a story, design some puzzles, draw some really rough sketches (It doesn't matter if you can't draw). Show it to the public, and if it's got potential, people will be interested to help you out and join you.

Of course there's always support when you've got questions or when you encounter problems and obstacles during the process described above.  Wink

Off course! How could I be so stupid not showing at least the plot of the story?
My apologies for that!

Well, the game (as long as my short story) is about an alien being that finds "himself" trapped inside an ice cave. That said it is interesting to notice that this being is not a humanoid, it is a kind of sphere of energy that glows an intense yellow light. We play the role of this alien. After the first steps of the game (and I mean, puzzles!) he manages to free himself just to find out that he is in an enormous iceberg floating on an everlasting ocean in a planet that is, for sure, not his own.  Then he must find out where  he is and what the heck he is doing there. This is not a comic story, it is a dramatic sci-fi work. I can

Cool ideas for sure!  Smiley  I'm very curious about your game, the story etc. but i'm afraid i have no time for a serious project. But keep us informed about your progress, that would be too kind.
